Good mainly for ambiance. Food is so-so. Usually packed. They have an outdoor patio area and a very lively indoor area.

EXCELLENT TRI-TIP SANDWICH!!! haven't been here in years but since we'll be passing through several times a year on our way to UCSB (college kid), this will be our lunch/dinner stop. Lots of people do food turns over often. Quick order and find your seat. Lots of indoor and patio seating. Parking is tough but fine to walk a few blocks away.

Sheesh that is so good. Tritip sandwich is so simple & yet incredible. We split one in half & shared. I was NOT ready for it to be on garlic bread--sooooo good. Sauce is awesome, meat is great. They were so quick too, got our food within a minute of ordering. Coleslaw on the side was decent, good portion size at least. Wish I had gotten more bbq sauce on the side, and maybe fries instead of coleslaw. Maybe a side of ranch too. Next time-- I'll be back for sure! If you're in the central coast area, you have to come here 1000%.

Line is long, but deliver of food is short (less than 5 minutes after paying) Ribs is packed with flavor, but err on the side of caution: it's super salty. Ambiance is your typical bar with a bunch of tvs on for sports.

Ribs were flavorful and juicy with perfect amount of sauce. Southwestern salad was great as well. Fresh greens and other veggies to accommodate. A little tip putting the garlic bread in the salad is amazing!!! Tri-tip sandwich lived up to its hype maybe could use a bbq sauce on the side for preference of dipping or amount of bbq. Overall the best bbq I've had in a while!!

With over 4K reviews...and an average rating of 4.2/5 Stars, Firestone Grill in SLO is obviously "doing something right". It's true, ya can't please everyone...and there might be an instance of "rudeness" from an employee who's having a bad day...but the Yelp Star Rating speaks for itself. Walking downtown SLO after a "Genius Bar" appointment at Apple, made for the perfect opportunity to try Firestone Grill for a late lunch. The place was "buzzin" (like normal) but it took only a few minutes to place our order. The Menu Board is "basic" (rather than extensive) which in my view is a good sign. Better to make a few item well...then to make a lot of items "badly", yes?! We ordered a Large Cobb Salad w/Tri-tip (5/5 - one heck of a Salad) and a Cheeseburger (5/5 - no lettuce, extra Onion and Tomato...really tasty basic Burger) and shared both. The food was really, really good...as attested to by many fellow Yelpers reviews. At the Bar, we ordered a Beer and yes...the Bartender was not a helpful or courteous employee...less one Star for the rating. Other employees we interacted with were friendly and applying themselves to their jobs with various and quite evident degrees of effort. Unfortunately, there wasn't a Floor Manager doing "table touches"...something I personally feel could make a difference in this establishment. On the other hand, why should Firestone Grill make that effort...the number of reviews to number of Star Rating is really very good...with the food and service being given at present. It works for Firestone...it also works for the majority of Patrons and on this occasion...it worked for us. Between the "healthy" restaurant "buzz" that gives one "a good feeling" about being there, to the great tasting food, to the "value" (our bill was $24 dollars and we took home enough for another single person meal), to the atmosphere (don't look too close for cleanliness...the "turnover" is huge, so ya...your table might not be the cleanest) it's a great place to enjoy the sports being broadcasted on the TV's, Firestone Grill should provide a decent casual dining experience for adults and families alike. Today, Firestone Grill SLO...in this Yelper's opinion, truly earned this "highly recommend - go and enjoy the experience" 4/5 Star review.

I can't believe of all the years that I've been coming here that I never took the time to write a review. But I guess Firestone Grill is already famous on its own, so if you go to school in SLO or you are making that drive on 101, this is the place to stop and take a food break! It is located in Downtown, so parking can get tough and all the spots nearby are metered. If you don't mind walking a few short blocks, there is a park 3 blocks or so away that you can park for free! Take the opportunity to stretch your legs and even grab a coffee. When you drive by and see the line, don't let it worry you because it goes by quick and there is always plenty of seating. Good for groups, good for you and good for me. This is one of those IYKYK places and you should get to know it. They pump out food quick and the portions are beyond generous for the prices. This is the best place to get your first experience on what Santa Maria Tritip consist of! My go to is always the tritip sandwich. They toast the buns with butter and stack the inside with so much juicy tritip and slather on their house bbq sauce - chefs kiss. Simple and yet so much flavor! They cut it in half for you to make it easier to eat. Ask for another side of bbq sauce if you're into it! You can also never go wrong with a burger or even one of their salads - they top them with so much meat of your choice. You can literally get full from eating a salad. Ingredients are fresh and made to order! There is also a full bar available, so it is super popular to catch the games on weekends. They have a designated ice machine and a water tap - you know they thought this through! Pro tip: Download the app and you can place your order while you park your car. By the time you walk up to the counter, your food will be ready! Trust me, way better than waiting in line. Their food has been the same after all these years and I always make a conscious effort to make a stop here! The sandwich is still good even if you have it for leftovers. They recently upgraded their outdoor seating and it's pretty much covered now, so don't have to worry about the sun beating down on your face, but still get a good breeze.

The best tri tip and BBQ in all of California! I've been going to Firestone for over 10 years. I'll never pass up the chance to stop in SLO for the food at Firestone. I've never had a meal I haven't liked from Firestone. My go-to is the tri tip sandwich, a side of fries, and the Cobb salad. If you have to choose one thing, get the tri tip sandwich. It's large enough to share between two people. The sandwich has tender slow cooked tri tip on a garlic roll. The bbq sauce is thick and sweet. The line at Firestone might look intimidating but it moves quickly and food comes out quickly. They have this process perfected. Firestone is awesome! Do not pass this place up!
